One Piece: A Major Wano Villain Has a Mysterious Link to Sanji

One of the Beast Pirates knows Sanji on a familial level, according to One Piece Chapter #1017.

One Piece Chapter #1017 is chock-full of surprises, including one involving our favorite chef. Queen, one of the Disasters of the Beast Pirates, was, along with Sanji’s father, Judge, a member of the unusual research group known as the MADS. Queen is also a cyborg, in addition to being a researcher.

When Sanji steps up to take him on in the chapter, Queen identifies him as one of the Vinsmoke kids. Sanji inquires if Queen was a member of Judge’s study group, which the All-Star verifies, as well as his cyborg disclosure. He then transforms into his Man-Beast form, ready to go head-to-head with Sanji.

MADS was a human experimentation research organization. Judge, Queen, and Dr. Vegapunk were among the noteworthy members, while there may be others who have gone unnamed. The gang did experiments that the World Government deemed taboo, and therefore the group was labeled unlawful 24 years before the current events of One Piece. The Vinsmokes allied with the Straw Hats and the Fire Tank Pirates after Big Mom attempted to murder the Vinsmoke family during the “Whole Cake” storyline.

Queen joined the Beast Pirates and became one of Kaido’s All-Stars due to his strength, while Judge and Vegapunk went on to work for the World Government and acquired prominence for their scientific accomplishments. He’s a vicious combatant, as evidenced by his admission during the Onigashima attack that he was merely toying with Chopper. He looks down on the Straw Hat doctor, believing that he is a medical superior and that there will never be a treatment for his Ice Oni Virus. He also ate the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Brachiosaurus, an Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit. This gives him the ability to change into a long-neck dinosaur or a human-brachiosaurus hybrid at command. We’ll have to wait until the next One Piece chapter to see if these surprising revelations throw Sanji off when the two square off.
